Supply of Accommodation Services by Means of Shared Accommodation in the Tourist Region Česká Kanada (Bohemian Canada)

The diploma thesis is focused on shared accommodation in the tourist area of Czech Canada. The aim is to evaluate selected factors of competitiveness of the offer of shared accommodation services with regard to the location of tourism attractions and the offer of accommodation facilities. The data was obtained from the created Accommodation Database and the Airbnb portal. It was found out how many objects of shared accommodation are located in the tourist area of Czech Canada and analyzed their distance from the attractions of tourism against official accommodation. Selected competitiveness factors were evaluated first with respect to all objects and official accommodation facilities, and then within 20 kilometers of the selected attractions. The price was also analysed and the biggest perceived benefits of shared accommodation were identified. The outputs of the analyses and the own observation in the issue enabled the elaboration of proposals and recommendations leading to a possible increase in the competitiveness of shared accommodation in the Czech Canada tourist area.
Shared accommodation: Current state and possibilities of its development on the Island of Madeira

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the current state and identify the potential for the development of shared accommodation in Madeira Island. Next goal is to identify barriers of its development based on the results of research about this type of accommodation and reduce them. The thesis is based on quantitative research, the supply and demand are being analyzed. The thesis also includes interviews, which have been used to suggests some ways how to improve the enjoyment of using AirBnB both for visitors and providers.
The Airbnb phenomenon and the regulation of short-term shared accommodation in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with an issue of short-term shared accommodation with a focus on the phenomenon of Airbnb and its regulations in Prague. The main goal of this paper is to chart the development of short-term shared accommodation in Prague, including the issue of regulations. A partial aim is to examine actors involved in this issue and their attitudes to Airbnb regulations. Another goal is to find out, how other selected European cities that already have an experience with regulations, deal with the issue of Airbnb. Last but not least, I am marginally concerned with how the covid-19 pandemic affected Airbnb and its core business. The analytical part of this paper is performed on the basis of secondary data, which are based on four types of documents: official, archival, virtual documents and mass media outputs. It was found that Prague has a comparable offer on Airbnb (with regard to the number of listings on Airbnb per population) with European cities such as Amsterdam and Barcelona. However, Prague lags far behind in putting regulations into practice. The statements and attitudes of the vast majority of the examined actors show a consensus in the need to introduce a certain degree of regulation. The Position of political parties to the Shared economy: Case study of the city of Prague

The following bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of sharing economy and the position of czech political parties towards it. At the beginning of the thesis the author analyzes the definition of a sharing economy, its various types and problems associated with it. At the same time she also presents the positives that a sharing economy offers. The focus is put on three most common types of sharing economy - shared accommodation (through the Airbnb platform), shared ride (through the Uber platform) and carsharing. The thesis describes the current legislative framework of each sector in the Czech Republic and also mentions examples of foreign legislation. The main aim is to outline the likely future steps of the Prague City Council in the regulation of shared economy. The author also compares opinions amongst and within the political parties during the last two election periods. The result of this bachelor thesis is a systematic view of the issue of shared economy in Prague in both election periods, and an outline of the likely development in the coming years.
